BFT Consultants recruitment in National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR)  on contract basis.

Education:Essential: Masters in Social Sciences or in relevant area.Desirable: Masters in Engineering

Experience:Essential: At least two-three years of work experience in rural development sector.

Desirable: Experience with Civil Society Organisations working on MGNREGA would be preferable. Experience of working with government to implement social sector programmes would be an asset. c. Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of development challenges and rural poverty. Familiarity with government policies, programmes and government operational systems in India. Knowledge of MGNREGA processes and challenges, particularly at the ground level. Ability to coordinate effectively between multi stakeholders. Knowledge of engineering concept is an asset but not essential.Familiarisation of the concept of barefoottechnicians and the permissible works and processes under MGNREGA is essential. Ability to work in small teams, and flexible ways of working.  Strong communication (written and oral) skills. Proficiency in MS-Office, especially Power Point and Excel; understanding of Management Information System (MIS) would be an asset. 

Language: Fluency in English and Hindi is essential. Knowledge of regional language(s) would be an asset.

To examine and analyse the factors contributing to the improvement of economic and social well-being of people in rural areas on a sustainable basis with focus on the rural poor and the other disadvantaged groups through research, action research and consultancy efforts. To facilitate the rural development efforts with particular emphasis and focus on the rural poor by improving the knowledge,skills and attitudes of rural development officials and non-officials through organising training, workshops and seminars.
