A medical qualification (e.g. MBBS) included in I or II schedule or part II of third schedule to Indian medical council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of third schedule should also fulfill condition specified in section 13(3) of Act.). 2. A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in respective discipline/subject. And/or 3. M.Ch. for surgical super-specialities and D.M. for Medical superspecialities (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
(B) For Non-Medical candidates (Only for Department of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry & Pharmacology) : For posts of Assistant Professor
1. Post graduate qualification e.g. Master degree in concerned discipline. (i) Anatomy – M.Sc. (Human Anatomy) (ii) Physiology – M.Sc. (Medical Physiology / Physiology) (iii) Biochemistry – M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry / Biochemistry) (iv) Pharmacology – M.Sc. (Medical Pharmacology / Pharmacology) 2. A Doctorate degree of a recognized university.
(C ) College of Nursing: Tutor / Clinical Instructor: 1. B.Sc. Nursing Degree from recognised Institution/University. 2. Registered Nurse/ Midwife in nursing council. Desirable: Masters Degree in Nursing and Independent published work in international/ national indexed Journals
Assistant Professor For Medical Candidates: Three years teaching and/or research experience in experience in a recognized institution in subject of specialty after obtaining qualifying degree of M.D./M.S. Or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. However, no experience is necessary for candidates possessing 3 years recognized degree of D.M./M.Ch. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh is one of the SIX AIIMS like apex healthcare institutes being established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY).
